Journeys: L.A

Los Angeles, a city of warm weather, blue skies and a vast arts scene; this is a city where dreams are made. My recent visit here reminded me of all L.A has in common with the MANDKHAI philosophy, the mood in California has a sense of warm relaxation and the summer evenings present the perfect weather for our light and breathable Spring/Summer cashmere clothing.

The L.A. art scene is a reflection of the California aesthetic, it's minimal but it's bold and never understated - a stark representation of contemporary america. The Steve Turner gallery was the cultural crux of this trip, Michael Stanik's solo exhibition From Memory gives me great inspiration. "Monochromatic but optically complicated, full of undulating recesses that create a range of hues based solely on the efect of light and shadow." - In the context of a white-walled gallery this artwork presents itself as bold colours amidst a pallette of soft, neutral tones, the perfect influence for a spring summer colour range.
