Viva Arte Viva: The Venice Biennale 2017

The Venice Biennale is one of the most culturally significant events to happen in the world, and this year the 57th exhibition took place across 12 different venues around Venice. Running biennially over the last 120 years, this prestigious event hosts many talented and inspiring artists with 900 pieces of art on display around the multiple venues. Check out a selection of our favourite artists and pieces from the exhibition below, and if you haven't seen it for yourself yet, you should definitely consider doing so.

Put together this year by French curator, Christine Macel, the exhibition titled Viva Arte Viva, appears to have a focus on the creative act itself, with a broad range of processes on display and an intriguing array of new, barely known artists. This array of technical processes creates a field of depth and interesting textures to explore, much of the work here was three dimensional and some even interactive which allowed us to really get into the art.
